Overview

We are seeking a Research Associate (RA) to join our team. The RA will provide support for the implementation of DCL’s research and advocacy projects. This includes overseeing day-to-day project activities, communicating with stakeholders, managing timelines, and ensuring project outcomes are accomplished in a timely and high-quality manner. The RA will work with a team of other associates and report directly to the project lead or the technical manager, as the specified project may require. Our ideal candidate has experience leading and contributing technical assistance to public health interventions.

Job description

The RA shall perform the following:

  1. Coordinate and support the design and implementation of high-quality research in accordance with relevant research good practice guidelines.
  2. Conduct literature reviews, stakeholder consultations, and other desk-review activities.
  3. Contribute to the development of study protocols, data tools, and M&E plans.
  4. Conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis using appropriate statistical software, e.g., Atlas TI, NVivo, Dedoose, SPSS, Stata, R, etc.
  5. Support the development, publishing, and dissemination of proposals, briefing papers, and manuscripts.
  6. Develop comprehensive internal and external (government/donor) reports on projects.
  7. Craft and deliver compelling presentations on projects and industry-related topics.
  8. Continuously stay updated on industry trends, research methodologies, and emerging topics to maintain a high level of expertise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field (including Public Health).
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in coordinating and executing implementation research projects.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in technical or research writing is preferred.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and Google Suite packages.
  • Great problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptability, flexibility, and time management to work on various tasks simultaneously.
