The quality of data arising from Nigeria RI system is a long-standing concern for the global community, government and partners; thus, its improvement is a top priority in the country. The study aimed to identify determinants of poor quality of routine immunization (RI) data in Nigeria, and to develop and disseminate a set of recommendations to address data quality issues at specific locations, various levels and by different stakeholders. The project expected that the diagnosis will identify specific drivers of poor RI data quality by state and programmatic settings in order to recommend solution to improve high quality and timely data.
Operational research identified determinants of poor routine immunization (RI) data quality in Nigeria. As a result, it developed and disseminated a set of recommendations to address data quality issues at specific locations, various levels, and by different stakeholders. These suggestions were included in the Nigerian Routine Immunization Data Quality Improvement Plan (2017-2020).
